For those of you who might not know, Shirley Hartley has ankylosing spondylitis, a chronic, degenerative disease of the spinal column. Unfortunately, it is accompanied with severe pain, when it shows it ugly face. Even more unfortunately, modern medicine has yet to find a cure. For the past few weeks, Shirley has been in the midst of one of these episodes and really needs our prayers. As I have often told you, I don’t know much about prayer and even less about Divine healing, but I do know that God is our healer and I also know that He loves Shirley; therefore, I know it is safe to trust Him. I also know that Satan is our defeated enemy, but enemy, nonetheless; consequently, he is busy doing whatever he can to cause grief among God’s people. He is, however, limited in what he can do. The story of Job tell us that.

With that said, I encourage you to pray for Shirley–fervently–as we are promised that that will accomplish much!

May the God of all peace comfort Shirley during this trying time!
