It is Thursday and Sunday is Coming–fast!

06 Thursday Dec 2012

Today is Thursday, so I know you are turning your minds and hearts toward Sunday! In light of that, I thought it worthwhile for me to remind you of the text for the message: “And He also told this parable to certain ones who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and viewed others with contempt: . . ..” (Luke 18:9-17).

This is the punchline: “And they were bringing even their babies to Him so that He might touch them, . . .” (vs. 15a).

Wow!

Grace lavished,

Mac

Our Lord blessed us and then some today! What a wonderful group of His people: loving, caring, compassionate, forgiving, praying, and accepting! For those of you who missed it, well, your missed a special time. When He shows up, as He did today, lives are changed and love is expressed.

It is my prayer that each you have a wonderful week!

Grace lavished!

Mac

Help Needed!

30 Friday Nov 2012

It would be very much appreciated, if you would leave some kind of comment when I post to this site; otherwise, I do not know if any of you read it. I just want to be sure you are getting the information.

I left Ralph & Data about 30 minutes ago, and I must say that he is very, very weak. The caretakers tell me he isn’t eating or drinking or taking his meds. From my own selfish perspective, it would be a blessing for God to call him Home–soon.

Grace lavished,

Mac

An Update on Ralph & Data

29 Thursday Nov 2012

I stopped by visit Ralph & Data this afternoon. Their granddaughter was already with them. The picture was a sad one. She was, futilely, straining to understand what Ralph was saying and Data was sitting by with a puzzled look on her face.

I felt compassion for Kara but there was nothing I could do for her. It was one of those times when it is better just to leave things alone.

Anyway, Ralph is becoming weaker by the day and it is obvious. He speaks with a whisper and it, for the most part, is unintelligible. He is eating very little, although he did agree to swallow his meds this AM. On an empty stomach, that was probably not a good thing.

I realize that it is likely that neither of them will know who you are, but you will know who they are, so please take the time to pay them visit. A brief visit will bring a smile on their faces and that is a good thing. A gentle hug is worth more than you might imagine!

“Inasmuch as you did it unto one of the least of these, you did it unto Me.”

Grace lavished!

Bob & Joanne

I paid Bob & Joanne a visit today, and I must say that Joanne is holding up quite well. Bob seemed to be spoiling very quickly with all the attention Joanne is giving him. I warned him that this could go on as long as necessary, but after “necessary” is over, well. . .

Of this you can be sure: Bob is very glad that he had the surgery done! In a few weeks, he will be better than new, and that ain’t bad for a man his age!

Blessings with grace lavished!

Back in Macon

24 Saturday Nov 2012

Yes, it is true; we are back in Macon after foldollering around the North Georgia mountains over the past several days. The Thanksgiving meal ranks as the #! worst in my entire 70 years, and that includes a couple I had while in Minnesota, some 50 years ago, where they eat stuffing instead of dressing. If you ever have the opportunity to eat at the Balsam Inn in Waynesville, NC, I have this suggestion: TURN IT DOWN!

On a more positive note: last night’s meal was scrumpdillicious and then some! If you ever have the opportunity to eat at Caffe Rel in Franklin, NC, I have this suggestion: DO! It is a French/Italian restaurant attached to a huge gas station. I happen to love French and Italian food, so I was right at home! The bouillabaisse was over the top excellent, aka Summa Cum Laude!

On an even more positive note: tomorrow is Sunday, which means that we will gather to worship and to listen to the Word speak to us. I have this suggestion about that: DO ATTEND! You will be so glad you did. Our topic: “Teacher, Tell My Brother to Divide the Family Inheritance with Me!”

See you then!

Regarding Bob White

Just learned that Bob & Joanne have to be at the Houston County Hospital at 5:30 in the morning. I do not know what time the procedure will begin, but I do know that it will take a few hours to get the jobs done.

I will let you know what I know when I know it.

Have a good night and dream sweet dreams!

Mac
