A Cafish Eating!! Along with a Few other Culinary Delights!

I don’t know where the rest of you were, but we were eating some food–some good food! The best of the best deep-fried catfish this side of Modesto, fried chicken livers, hamburger steak large enough to feed four farm hands, beautiful fried filets of catfish for those who don’t like to pick out bones, enough fried chicken to feed a boarding house supper, a shore nuff cheeseburger, hand cut french fries, fresh picked sweet potato fries, cole slaw, and hushpuppies.

George Peavy ate the fried chicken all by himself!

Vera hardly ate anything, other than 4 pounds of fried catfish filets.

Joanne White ate at least 3 pounds of fried chicken livers and 3 large pieces of fried fish filets, not to mention a bowl filled with those hand-cut french fries.

I would be embarrassed to tell you how much fish Bob White ate. There is one thing for sure: hip replacements do not affect one’s appetite; not his, anyway.

Walter Peavy ate a hamburger steak the size of a hubcap, with onions and gravy.

Peggy and Mildred ate more catfish than any three men could have eaten. Then, Mildred ordered a three pound order of chicken livers to take home. I can only hope she waited until today to eat them.

Annis ate the lone shore nuff cheeseburger.

Roger and I barely ate any catfish. We would have eaten more, but we were trying to be according to etiquette.

Barbara ate, and then she ate some more. For the life of me, I do not know where she put it. Unless she was putting it in her pocketbook. She did have a rather large one. Annis did that on another excursion, so I know it can be done.

The hosts, Douglas & Valorie, didn’t eat anything; instead, they served the rest of us. If you believe that, well, you probably also believe that Obama is the best president since George Washington.

Anyhow, enjoy the pictures!

If you received an email from John Akacki asking for money, please do not respond to it, as it is a scam. Someone has probably stolen his identity. He is aware of it, as I just talked with him.

Blessings and have a great day!

Mac

A Friendly Reminder!

05 Saturday Jan 2013

According to my calendar, tomorrow is Sunday, January 6, 2013, which means that we will be gathering for our worship service. I am really looking forward to seeing each of you, so go ahead and polish your shoes and comb your hair, so you will be ready.

The subject of the message will be this: “A Tax Collector in a Sycamore Tree.” From what I can read from the text, he probably looked rather foolish, but the fact is this: it was the most sane thing tax collector ever did.

See you tomorrow morning!

Grace and peace,

Mac

Update for Kathy Almand

28 Friday Dec 2012

After test, after test, after test, the Doc has decided that surgery is not indicated just now (insurance won’t pay, among other things), so he has put Kathy on a high fiber diet, with several other meds, in an effort to wake her colon. After six months, if she is not much improved, the surgery will probably be indicated. In my opinion, this is asking much from Kathy, as she has suffered more-than-enough with this problem. Please keep her in your prayers, as she continues her journey.

Blessings,

Mac

“The Love Birds”

Everyone please remember to pray for Carolyn & Eddie, as she is having surgery tomorrow morning at 8:30 at Downtown Emory. Her goal, to use her own words, is to become a “Perfect 10.”

We all love you both very much, and we are praying for a perfect procedure that will produce your “Perfect 10,” and for a speedy recovery!!

The Promise of God--clear, rich, and vibrant!

Corina Tweddle just called to tell me that Charlie’s husband, Ronald Hugins, just committed suicide at his residence in Gray. As you remember, Charlie is Corina’s mother, and has attended GCF several times of late.

Please remember this family at this very difficult time in their lives.

As I receive more information, I will forward it to you. As of right now, the police are not allowing anyone into the house. Corina is on her way there and promised to keep me updated.

Urgent Prayer Matter

01 Tuesday Nov 2011

Carolyn & Eddie Dailey learned today that Carolyn has breast cancer. The Doc recommends a mastectomy, which Carolyn has agreed to have done. The date is not set, as of now. During the surgery, the Doc will also check several lymph nodes. If they are clear, there is the good possibility that she will not have to undergo chemo and radiation. I spent a while with them at the Doc’s office and can assure you that, although their “world” has been shaken, they are choosing to trust Jesus, knowing that His way is perfect. The most difficult prayer is the “not my will but Thine be done,” even so, this is their prayer.

Please keep them in your prayers as they take one step at a time. Pour out your love upon them!

Blessings!

Mac

Eddie in Auto Accident!

Eddie & Carolyn

Yesterday afternoon around 5:30 Eddie’s guardian angels were working overtime to keep him safe! He was following a tractor-trailer that jack-knifed, and in order to avoid hitting it, he had to leave the road. Unfortunately, he hit a culvert of some kind, which brought him to a sudden stop! Air bags did not open, but he was wearing his seat belt. I just talked with him and he is very sore, especially on his left side, but, otherwise, OK. I imagine it will be a few days before he returns to work. Another vehicle, small truck, did hit the tractor-trailer. The driver is in critical condition at the med-center.
