Yesterday afternoon, Sherry O’Neal’s husband, Kenneth, was killed in a tragic accident. You have probably read the story the Telegraph had in the paper today. Sherry attended GCF several times in the past. She is left with five children! I will give you more information as I get it. Please keep Sherry and her children in your prayers.

Grace to each of you!

Mac

A Regenesis!

19 Thursday Feb 2015

Well, after many years of living with us, Michael left this afternoon at 4:30 headed to Gainesville, FL to find a place to live and to begin his new job at Shand’s pediatric hospital as a respiratory therapist.

I must say that his leaving was bittersweet: more sweet than bitter, but bittersweet, nonetheless. Please join me in praying that he will thrive in this new phase of his life

Thanks again for your generosity to him. As Kevin said, “When you bless my children, you bless me.” That is for sure!

Blessings!

Mac

It Has Been a While

It has been a while since I posted anything on the GCF blog, so you might not even remember it. Be that as it may, I want to use it to tell you how much I appreciate all of your Birthday wishes! It is quite wonderful to be on this side of the grass and still able to preach and teach the good news of Jesus! I have no idea how much longer He will allow me to continue, but I plan to enjoy every minute of it.

I also want to thank you for your generosity to Michael. It meant much to him and to me! As far as I know at the moment, he will be leaving Thursday to begin this new part of his journey. We are all very excited and trusting that this will prove to be a great opportunity for him.

Blessings to each of you!

Mac

The Sad Truth

08 Sunday Jun 2014

For those “Christians,” who choose to live as if they are under the Law:

I. There can be no genuine worship.

2. There can be no intimacy with Him.

3. There can be no works but dead works.

4. Sacrifices must be continued on a daily basis.

5. There can be no eager waiting on His return, only the expectation of a sudden and fiery judgment.

Barbara Miller has had a cough for around a month. She went to her Doc last week, who thought she had pneumonia. She did an x-ray and called Barbara back to tell her she sees something and wants another x-ray. Maybe a shadow; maybe a nodule. She needs our prayers!

Also her brother-in-law has lung cancer and needs our prayers. His name is Galen.

Blessings!

MAUNDY THURSDAY

15 Tuesday Apr 2014

FYI:

Maundy Thursday is observed during Holy Week on the Thursday before Easter. Also referred to as “Holy Thursday” or “Great Thursday” in some Christian denominations, Maundy Thursday commemorates the Last Supper when Jesus shared the Passover meal with his disciples on the night before he was crucified. In contrast to joyful Easter celebrations when Christians worship their resurrected Savior, Maundy Thursday services are typically more solemn occasions, marked by the shadow of Jesus’ betrayal.
While different denominations observe Maundy Thursday in their own distinct ways, two important biblical events are the primary focus of Maundy Thursday solemnizations:
Before the Passover meal, Jesus washed the feet of his disciples. By performing this lowly act of service, the Bible says in John 13:1 that Jesus “showed them the full extent of his love.” By his example, Jesus demonstrated how Christians are to love one another through humble service. For this reason, many churches practice foot-washing ceremonies as a part of their Maundy Thursday services.
During the Passover meal, Jesus took bread and wine and asked his Father to bless it. He broke the bread into pieces, giving it to his disciples and said, “This is my body, given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.” Then he took the cup of wine, shared it with his disciples and said, “This wine is the token of God’s new covenant to save you–an agreement sealed with the blood I will pour out for you.” These events recorded in Luke 22:19-20 describe the Last Supper and form the biblical basis for the practice of Communion.
What Does “Maundy” Mean?
Derived from the Latin word mandatum, meaning “commandment,” Maundy refers to the commands Jesus gave his disciples at the Last Supper: to love with humility by serving one another and to remember his sacrifice.

Grace to you!

Mac
